Depression

Whether you seek emotional, psychological or spiritual balance, or need help to figure out how to deal with depression, you can gain power from learning about your moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviors in individual therapy.

When you are depressed you may feel as if you can never get out from under a dark cloud. You may experience hopelessness, irritability, withdrawal, loneliness, reduced motivation, self esteem issues, changes in your appetite or sleep patterns, etc. You may feel numb or “empty.” If your moods and behaviors prevent you from living the life you want, or are harmful to you, therapy can help you.

I use an integrative approach that considers the person as a whole, which is focused on personal strengths. An integrative model of therapy is tailored to your own individual needs and incorporates evidence-based methods. Understanding and addressing the underlying factors that contribute to your depression is an essential part of treatment and can interrupt harmful patterns.

In therapy you will learn what types of life changes might be beneficial and you will be supported through the process of managing your situation (e.g., exercise, social support, sleep, nutrition, self-regulation, etc.).

Gathering up the pain of our wound
so that we may escape the pain of our wound
gathering up the body’s bitterness
so that we may escape the body’s bitterness
so that roses may bloom in the blood of our wound.
